The photo message below is a stark reminder of the kind of world we live in. It reminds us how we are caught paying attention to things that are less important at the cost of not caring for those that mean much more. We are been gripped by the death of the SAF 44 and this shows how much we can care. If only we cared more for the 210,000 Filipinos who have been killed in the Mindanao war, soldiers, policemen, rebels and innocent civilians, or the millions of Filipinos who are stalked by hunger everyday, the tens of millions of our own who can only survive against their harsh reality. If only we were not selective in our caring, or so temporary, our world will not see the very violence we decry today. But that means we comment on things that count more.
